Trip So Far

End of Day 210:

  • 62 travel Days
  • 41 Locks
  • 3300 Miles
  • 2000 Gallons of Fuel
  • Now at Marathon Key, the furthest southern latitude of the trip
  • Key Learnings:
    • In salt water, boat bottoms need scrubbing and zincs need replacing every 6 to 8 weeks
    • There are very few alligators in Everglades City now as they move inland to avoid salt water until the spring rains begin.  Salt water causes blindness.
    • Airboat rides in the Everglades are a "blast"
    • We never tire of seeing Palm trees, Dolphins and blue skies
